The day you decide that you are more interested in being aware of your thoughts than you are in the thoughts themselves - that is the day you will find your way out.
— Michael Singer

I want to be a “safe harbor” for the thoughts and feelings of my clients, since a supportive client-centered relationship is one of the most essential ingredients in therapy.

I offer authenticity, honesty, and directness in my therapeutic work. Taking inspiration from the existential and humanistic traditions of the 1970’s, I am a client-centered therapist, which means that I believe in letting clients lead the way while I guide and support their work.

My experience as a therapist intern at the Church Street Integral Counseling Center has included working with individuals, couples and families of various ages, ethnicities and sexual orientations. From my twenty-five years as a pediatric nurse, I have found empathy not only to be key in the qualities of a “good enough” therapist but as a nurse as well. I have spent hours supporting children of all ages and their families cope with the pain, suffering and loss of childhood cancer and other chronic health issues. I have also worked with adolescents with eating disorders and have provided vocational guidance and counseling to the physically disabled community. As a nurse, and now as a therapist I have found that warmth, genuineness, and humor are natural and necessary parts of my caring for others.
