If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.
— African Proverb

My passion is to support people in having happier lives, more fulfilling relationships and more authentic experiences of themselves.

If you would like to explore new ways to meet difficulty in life or in relationship, develop skills to shift depression or anxiety, or to embody a healthier lifestyle, I would be honored to participate in your journey.

Therapy can be a support for living a happier, more vital and more fulfilling life. In therapy we meet what’s true at a level we may not be able to feel or notice without support. Through this exploration our perspective shifts. As awareness increases we see new possibilities. As a result of experiencing where we actually are, new choices emerge where none existed before.

As a therapist I specialize in working with people (individuals, couples and families) facing challenging life events, transitions or relationship difficulties. My clients may be experiencing grief, anxiety, body image challenges, couples’ issues (in the areas of communication, sexuality, or family stresses), work challenges, big decisions and life transitions (including childhood-to-adult, mid-life, career changes, illness and death).

I work in a client-centered way, drawing on years of gestalt and Gestalt Awareness Practice training and utilizing Systems Theory, Internal Family Systems, Non-violent Communication and Hakomi techniques. I also work relationally and with a focus on awareness. I am dedicated to “walking the walk” of this work in my own life, which supports me in bringing a tone of non-judgment, kindness and welcome to the sometimes difficult truths you may be

We think that accomplishing things will complete us, when it is experiencing life that will.
— Mark Nepo - The Book of Awakening

My education includes an M.A. in Integral Counseling Psychology from CIIS, undergraduate degrees in Environmental Design and Music (minor) from UC Davis, and twenty-plus years of practice and training in Gestalt Awareness Practice as developed by Dick and Christine Price, and taught by John Madatian and Beth O’Connor, PhD. I’ve worked for years with families facing grief and loss, and I came to counseling after twenty years in corporate design and consulting. I also lead corporate communication and team building trainings.

Finding a therapist who is the right fit for you is essential to having a positive therapeutic experience. I offer a FREE initial phone consultation to facilitate this process.
